2019 began in Valencia, where I prepared the Coro Catedralico for their concert of Bach's Christmas Oratorio with Ton Koopman. In february I gave my first workshop on Leyden Choir Books in France, at Peltre. In March we redid Le Jeunes Printemps near Paris, at Meudon. During Passiontime 2019 I prepared the Nederlands Kamerkoor for passions with William Christie and Reinbert de Leeuw. In June I conducted Pergolesi Stabat Mater with Le jeune Choeur de Dordogne, the Amsterdam Baroque Soloists, Clotilde Cantau and Susan Jonkers in the itinéraire Baroque Festival. June was concluded with an extraordinary and exciting Plenum edition: a night concert in Groningen Martini church. In october we celebrated the anniversaries of Ton Koopman (75) and ABO (40)

The Coro Catedralico of Valencia was not at all used to a baroque approach but the learned fast and managed to sing it splendidly.

pergolesi

As always Le Jeune Choeur de Dordogne was fantastic, this year with Pergolesi's Stabat Mater. It was their first time they performed this famous piece, for me too by the way. (with Susan Jonkers (S), Clotilde Cantau (A) and the Amsterdam Baroque Solists)

So happy to establish a new tradition: singing Le Jeune Printemps at the beginning of Spring. Here in a very intimate setting near Paris, Meudon.

gabrieli: Edipo tiranno

A dream come true, performing the enigmatic, homophonic but bold 'cori' Andrea Gabrieli wrote for the opening of the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza to the play of Oeidipus. The music was even more beautiful than I thought and imagined, and the courageous Arbonne singers were fully comitted and capable to render a great performance.

Inventing and leading PLENUM's nightconcert 29th june was a one of a kind experience. Not only a extrordinary good concert but also a great show! with music of modern choral composers like Whitacre and Esenvalds. I also made my modest and humble debut as 'choreographer', luckily Tamarah Muizer danced. Not I.

Our summercourse at Château Des Hayes, dedicated to choral music of Saint-Saëns, Debussy, Ravel and Poulenc, was concluded with a lovely concert in the church of Brion.
